Companies should adopt email archiving solutions for two main reasons - time and money

A recent report released by a company specializing in email archiving and other data storage solutions stated organizations should adopt these technologies for two reasons - to save money and time, according to IT World.

According to the report, more than 75 percent of enterprise organizations will look to implement an email archiving solution during the next year. While regulatory authorities have mandated the installation of such solutions for many industries, the report believes the amount of time and money saved by adopting these storage systems are greater benefits than maintaining such compliance.

With an email archiving solution in place, a company can free its IT workers from the daily process of combing through large amounts of messages and manually storing them. Also, companies can shed the cost of keeping such workers on board if the archiving system is performing optimally.

A recent example highlighting this benefit is within the healthcare industry, where a majority of doctors now use smartphones for communication with co-workers. Unfortunately for these medical practitioners, no archiving system exists for smartphone communication and thus, they are required to manually log all messages sent and received at a later time.
