How does the activation key work?
Once you purchase InBoxer directly from us, you will receive an Activation Key via email. The key will be sent to the email address you used during the purchase process. Usually, the key arrives within the hour. However, during maintenance and other periods, it could take up to eight hours to receive your activation key. (Note: If you purchased InBoxer from a retail store or from a reseller, this key may have already been entered for you.)
InBoxer 1.2 activates automatically when the email is received. If you are using an earlier version of InBoxer or if you are installing InBoxer on a PC other than the one in which the email was received, you must activate InBoxer manually.
To manually activate InBoxer, you must enter both the email address and the key exactly as shown in the message. Do not use a new or different email address. The capitalization in both the email address and the activation key must match exactly. Be sure to remove any leading or trailing blank spaces. Our registration key verification system is very sensitive.
If you purchased InBoxer from a third party, you may not receive an activation message from us. In that case, look for your license key from them. The key may have been entered for you. If not, the activation key will be in two parts. The first part will look like an email address. That should be entered into the email address field. The second part will look like a series of numbers of letters separated by hyphens. This is the activation key. Remember that you must use the first part supplied by your vendor, not your email address, into the activation dialog.
If you purchased more than one license, you may use this key on multiple systems. By special request, you may ask for keys for individual systems. Contact sales@inboxer.com for individual keys.
You may use InBoxer with an unlimited number of email addresses on a single PC, and you may use InBoxer with email addresses that do not match the one used for the activation key. InBoxer is licensed to use on a single PC. Please contact us for multiple unit or terminal server licensing.
If you have purchased directly from the InBoxer web site and you have not received a your key after waiting eight hours, please email us at support@inboxer.com. We will generate a key for you and we usually respond within one business day.
Why must I enter my email address?
Each Activation Key is matched to an individual email address and we will only mail the key to that address. You must provide a valid email account to purchase InBoxer. We will never sell these addresses. Please see our Privacy Policy (click on the link below).
Once you have received the Activation Key, you may install it on the number of machines for which you are licensed. You may use each licensed InBoxer copy with an unlimited number of email accounts and an unlimited number of users on the licensed machine. In addition, the licensed PC does not need to be used to read email from the account used in the Activation Key. (This sometimes happens when an MIS person receives the key in his account, but installs InBoxer on a different machine.)
I have not received my Activation Key.
If you are using the trial version, then you do not need a key, just fill in your email address in the registration dialog box.
If you have purchased a license, you should receive your activation key within one hour. If you do not receive your key after waiting, the cause is usually one of three problems: (1) we are having system problems, (2) your email server bounced our message, or (3) there was a problem with the email address you sent us. Please send us a message to support@inboxer.com and we will trace it.
My Activation Key does not work.
In most cases, if you purchased InBoxer directly from us, version 1.2 automatically activates when it receives activation email from us. However, if you are using an earlier version of InBoxer or if you install InBoxer on a PC other than the one that received the email, you must enter your activation information manually.
The InBoxer Activation Key system is very sensitive in order to prevent illegal copying. Therefore, great care must be used when entering the activation information. In most cases, we have found that the problem can be solved in one of the following ways:
1. Please make sure that the email address you enter is the one you used to register the software. That address is written in your email message immediately above the key.
2. Please make sure that the both the email and the key are entered exactly as shown in the email, including capitalization and the use of hyphens. A capital “X” is not the same as a lower case “x” in this system.
3. Please make sure to remove any trailing or leading blanks. Even one extra space at the end of the email address or registration key will prevent InBoxer from working.
4. Please be sure that you have not used the key on more systems than the number of licenses you have purchased.
If you purchased InBoxer from a reseller, they may have entered the information for you or provided the activation information. If so, look for information that looks like an email address, even if it is not yours. Adjacent to this address is likely to be a series of letters and numbers separated by hyphens. This would be the activation code. Please use the information they provided.
If, after you have done these steps, your key is still not working, please contact us at support@inboxer.com or 781-272-1140 during business hours.

If you purchased InBoxer directly from this web site, please complete the form below. We will confirm the registration information and then and we will send the key to the email address used during activation. We will only send activation keys to registered email addresses.
